My Tears were My Stanzas for People! Weep with me! Wonderful it is for your heart and mine To meet in the plazas of tears! Those fountains, people claimed, Draw pearls from heavenly springs! What a great tune we melodize with When we shed our tears therewith: A sad flute, Divulging all what we needed With all this conceit! For the first time My tears have become a cloud. For the first time, I feel deep within My tears are but torrential rain deluging constants! Never have I wept before, Believe me, For weeping has been banned in our world! Whenever tears almost hovered on our cheeks, We used to repress and turn our backs on! Never have I confronted my tears before, Rather I was acting, with my tears, As foes! After falling in love with you, The more yearnings seep within me, The more I weep, Is weeping an exception In our love?
