As if… As if you were a stab in the heart That healed not; As if you were a tear that seeped down my cheek To make my life sorrowful and bleak; As if you were the mirth of feasts, As my heart was a dallying child! As if you were the moment of birth, And the first moment I descried In my world! As if you were a stab in the heart I’m addicted to, And your love, That blade that hurts! As if you were the world’s sublime purity! Verily, this exquisite affection Has embellished my world, Far and wide, At all times!
