I wonder

I wonder I wonder, when shall I regain My memory again? When shall it come back from exile, To help me reminisce again About all old comrades Of days of yore? Shall I, I wonder, come back to be friends, Widows and orphan? Nothing is more remote than you, O my homeland! Never will the earth rotate, And beget heroes, after its setback, And weep at your gates! ======================== May God forgive us! Yet we’ve never forgiven ourselves, Rather we re-committed same sins! My greeting to the land that refused our greetings! I’ll gather here the children, To chant for them the song of dreams, To feed them with sweet words To yearn for days, To long for the mother’s bosom, In case they are ousted, In case they are starved! The milk of victory suffices them And never shall we need food again! =================== One day, bushes will sprout here, Yielding moons in the dark Each chandelier will become as big as the sun! Myriad currents oppose us, We contend therewith stubbornly! The heroes usually swim avidly Against the tide! We shall grow up, O Country of Fears, and will mention not Prisons of yesternight! ====================== From million windows Eyes loom up, like roses, giving giggles, That demolish burdens, in one’s soul! Your eyes are spread days as exquisite dreams! Your eyelids inundate squares! Yes, Ma’am, I realized the meanings of victory As we all gather happily, As children in the palace lobby And in our depths lurks a beautiful dawn Called, “the life of this world”, As a wonderful love, seeps within us, Called (Egypt)
