Strikingly fair and lovely With a beautifully formed Grecian nose She gracefully sails in her wooden boat Driven by the winds of passion She hews the rough spots Of her gypsy heart Into an Egyptian obelisk That bears testimony To the legend of her immortal love O did that little queen Rush into the battleground To fight an enemy Or to drown in the Nile of amorous love At night, she carried her heart A heart that closed its eyes Wandered far Into distant islands And fell asleep Within the folds Of the darkened rims of their eyelids She concealed herself like a houri And hid inside a seashell. How marvelous the charm That defeated the Roman Czar Yea, at her feet Antonio bowed low. O bold lover For the Queen of Queens' sake, sail on And burn the banners and ships You've loved Cleo And lovers never fail Many a time her heart wept And was aflame for you She fashioned the kingdom of her love For you, she carved stones into statues And erected monolithic obelisks The royal incense Burned and wafted in her heart The pyramids heard the moans Of her heart And utterances of her love Poignantly echoed In the inner sanctum of her being Causing sphinx lions To rush into the halls of her heart And chase away those who stealthily enter it And furtively peer into its mysteries You've departed, Antonio The Queen's throne shook And the passion-haunted spirits Excitedly fluttered Spellbound by the abiding loyalty Of a man who promised And proved true to his word Then took his own life The mighty throne Of the deluded, love-smitten Cleopatra Is forever gone Antonio departed and is no more And the monument sank Their love, however, lives on And has immortalized history It is a victorious romance tale That shall never die
